Police arrested a wrong-way driver along U.S. 19 early Sunday morning and charged him with driving under the influence, the department said.

Nicolas Keeble, 28, was driving south in the northbound lanes of U.S.19 near Sunset Point Road around 2 a.m., when he headed straight into the path of an ambulance, Clearwater police say.

“I’m shaking in my pants because I’ve never- even in my personal vehicle- had anything like that happen to me before,” EMT Jacqueline Vazquez said.
