The New York Bus Contractors Association is using School Bus Safety Week to announce its support for two bus safety bills that would create tougher penalties for drivers who operate a bus under the influence, expand drug and alcohol testing for all drivers, and increase penalties for motorists who pass a stopped school bus.
The association is calling for passage of a bill (S.7761) sponsored by Sen. John Flanagan, R-East Northport, that would require a random drug and alcohol testing for all school bus drivers.
