Portsmouth teen charged with DWI, allegedly struck pedestrians

Two women were airlifted to Boston hospitals and a 17-year-old Portsmouth High School high honors student was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated after his vehicle allegedly struck the pedestrians at North Beach early Thursday morning.

Remi Gross-Santos, of Portsmouth, was arrested after the 1992 Volvo 740 sedan he was driving swerved from the northbound lane of Ocean Boulevard into the southbound lane at about 7:15 a.m., striking two women walking northbound on the west side of the roadway near 13th Street, according to Hampton Deputy Police Chief Rich Sawyer.
