Deputy fired after DWI arrest

A Travis County Sheriff’s Deputy was fired following his weekend arrest for Driving While Intoxicated.

A Cedar Park officer stopped Deputy James Bishop Sapp on Sunday night after watching his Jeep swerve along Bell Boulevard, according the probable cause affidavit for his arrest. The officer wrote that there was a strong smell of alcohol in the car. Sapp performed several field sobriety tests before deciding he didn’t want to continue.
