Alleged drunken drivers switch places and get arrested

A half dozen drivers were arrested on suspicion of drunken driving over the weekend, including two men who swapped places behind the wheel while officers watched, police said.

Michael Schmidt, 35, 300 Canal Lane in Houma, and Troy Dupre, 48, 405 Weatherby Lane in Bayou Blue, were arrested about 8 p.m. Sunday in Raceland after both were caught driving the same truck while drunk, police said.
