RTD bus driver arrested Monday for DUI while on duty

A contract bus driver for the Regional Transportation District was arrested Monday on suspicion of driving under the influence.

 

Darren Pettee, 49, an employee of First Transit, one of two companies that contract with RTD, has been driving with RTD for about seven weeks, according to a company spokeswoman. A spokesman for Denver police said Pettee was arrested when customers on the bus he was driving in the vicinity of East Ninth Avenue and Clermont Street noticed that “his driving was out of the ordinary.
