Police: Drunk driver going 128 mph during fatal impact

A police report filed in Kern County court shows drunk-driving suspect Alex Rubio was allegedly going 128 mph when he crashed Jan. 3, killing a 22-year-old woman at New Stine Road and Ming Avenue.

 

Princess Almonidovar was killed instantly in the crash.

 

Rubio, 24, has been charged with five felonies and a pair of misdemeanors. The felony charges include second-degree murder, gross-vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and hit-and run.
