Plymouth sheriff’s official charged with drunk driving

Police said a top official at the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Department was drunk Tuesday night when he crashed his car into another vehicle on Commerce Way and then took down traffic signs as he fled.

Stephen W. Ottino, assistant director of standards and compliance for Sheriff Joseph McDonald, was arrested at 10:37 p.m., after he was taken to South Shore Hospital for facial injuries.
