A New Prague man was charged with his third DWI in five years when he drove his van into a ditch while fleeing a rural Rice County residence, police say.

According to a criminal complaint filed Monday in Rice County District Court, police were dispatched around 8 p.m. on Saturday to a possible burglary in progress at the 12600 block of Union Lake Trail in Rice County. The caller said a man arrived in a red van, walked around outside the home and entered the house, according to the complaint.
