Men arrested for alleged 6th, 9th drunken driving offenses

Madison-area police made two arrests Saturday of alleged repeat drunken drivers.

Around 12:40 p.m., a man was arrested after the Dane County Sheriff’s Office responded to Ellingson Road and Highway C in the town of Windsor to a report of a vehicle in the ditch.

Deputies arrived to find an unoccupied vehicle, but a witness reported seeing the vehicle’s driver walking on Highway C, according to a statement by Lt. Chuck Immel. Steven D. Vander Sanden was found walking on the highway just over the Dane/Columbia County line, Immel said.
