Grayson County jury sentences multiple DWI offender to 8 years in prison, $8000 fine

On January 21, a Grayson County jury sentenced Robert Wayne Hartsfield, 55, of Van Alstyne, to 8 years in prison and an $8000 fine for a felony offense of Driving While Intoxicated 3rd or More. The sentence recommendation was returned after a two-day punishment trial after Hartsfield pled guilty to the offense before 59th District Judge Rayburn Nall.

On March 10, 2013, at 3:35 a.m., Whitewright Officer Rick Webber received a call that a truck was stuck in a ditch on Highway 69 and Sears Road. When Officer Webber approached the scene, Hartsfield exited his truck and stumbled into the street.
