Dispute over current marijuana laws continues in Indiana

Driving under the influence of marijuana is treated the same way as driving under the influence of alcohol, and some policy makers argue this is unfair and unscientific.

Last session, State Sen. Karen Tallian (D-Portage) introduced Senate Bill 580. This bill would establish a medical marijuana program in Indiana. A key component to this bill is how driving while under-the-influence of marijuana would be handled.
