With plans to start a post-sentence DUI court in Putnam County this month, the official DUI court team met to review policies.

 

Plans for the court have been underway since November, and the group initially hoped to have the court begin this week.

 

Putnam probation officer Chelsea Hughes, who will serve as DUI court coordinator, brought a draft copy of a policy manual for review by the team, which also includes Eatonton Municipal Court and Putnam County State Court Judge Michael Gailey Jr.; Eatonton Police Chief Kent Lawrence, Solicitor General Russell Thomas; Eatonton Municipal Court Clerk Lynn Thomas and Deputy Clerk Jodi Sellers; and treatment clinician Valarie Ford.
