Assistant coach faces judge in triple fatal DUI wreck

An assistant college baseball coach appeared before a judge Monday on multiple DUI charges after a crash that killed three people.

Lt. Mike Aikens, with the Anderson Police Department, said Riley Christopher McDermott, 24, was driving a vehicle that crossed the centerline at 12:17 a.m. Saturday morning and crashed head-on into a car at the intersection of East Calhoun Street and U.S. Highway 29, also known as Boulevard Street.
