CONYERS — A deputy sheriff with the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office has resigned after she was involved in an auto accident Saturday morning and charged with DUI.

According to Chief Deputy Scott Freeman, Frances Farmer of Conyers resigned from the RCSO Sunday afternoon after she was arrested early Saturday morning. Deputies were called to an accident with injuries in the 2800 block of Zingara Road at about 3:10 a.m. Saturday, according to a press release issued by Freeman. When they arrived they found a vehicle that had left the roadway and determined that the driver was an off-duty RCSO deputy who was allegedly under the influence of alcohol.
