Rock Hill grandfather charged with DUI, child endangerment after hitting car at Burger King

A Rock Hill man who had been drinking “a half a pint of Gin” on Thursday was arrested after police say he backed into a car at the drive-thru of a Burger King restaurant while his great-grandson was in the car with him.

Police at about 3 p.m. were sent to the Saluda Street Burger King after receiving calls about a possible drunk driver at the drive-thru window, according to a Rock Hill police report. A man told police that he was waiting in the drive-thru to get his food when Waymon Agurs, 58, backed into him with his Chrysler. Agurs told police he was taking his great-grandson, 11, to get food.
