A Rockdale County sheriff’s deputy resigned Sunday after her arrest for allegedly driving drunk and causing a wreck that injured two people.
Frances Helen Farmer, 27, of Conyers, was charged with DUI and failure to maintain lane after the wreck, which happened shortly after 3 a.m. on Zingara Road, Chief Deputy Scott Freeman with the Rockdale sheriff’s office said Monday.
Investigators believe Farmer was driving a 2010 Ford pickup truck on a curve when the truck left the roadway and struck several trees, according to a spokeswoman for the Georgia State Patrol.
