Dismissal of deputy's DWI rekindles fire between political foes

 

A veteran Medina County deputy who resigned six months ago after being charged with DWI is back on the job after the case was dismissed, but he won't be allowed to testify for the state in felony cases prosecuted there.


District Attorney Dan Kindred said Deputy Ernest Flores no longer is viable as a witness because he failed sobriety tests, including an Intoxilizer screening by the Texas Department of Public Safety, raising integrity concerns.
