Mono County Sheriff’s Department deputies were attempting to contact an individual in the Crowley Lake area in order to serve a felony arrest warrant related to multiple previous drunk driving arrests. Deputies were unsuccessful locating the individual at his residence and learned he had recently been seen driving in the area.
Deputies requested a “Be on the Lookout” broadcast to all local law enforcement personnel. At about that same time the CHP’s (California Highway Patrol) Bishop Communications Center received a 9-1-1 call from a citizen reporting a vehicle traveling south on US 395, near Ed Powers Road, north of Bishop, was weaving and unable to stay within its traffic lane.
